Why a wolf sanctuary?

Freedom's Song Wolf Rescue & Sanctuary is in its infancy. In 2006 it's 501(c)(3) non-profit status was approved.

Property must be acquired: 80-100 acres are needed, and they need to be rural enough to prevent issues with the rapidly growing and expanding communities here in northeastern Oklahoma, yet accessible enough for visitors, volunteers and fundraising events.

Current estimates are:

One 1/2-acre enclosure costs approximately $6000 (initially 10 enclosures need to be built-individual sizes could vary depending on the terrain)
Two '10x15' prefabricated buildings approximately $4500 each (one for food storage/prep, one for a clinic)
Property can be found for as low as $500 per acre (undeveloped) in the southeastern part of the state, but it can go for $50,000 and up the closer it is to Tulsa (although we prefer northeastern Oklahoma, we are flexible, and we may have to start with 40-50 acres and add more later)

Note: All of these estimates are just that - estimates. They are subject to change depending on the market at the time purchase and building begins.
